Strategic Advisor to the Administrator

Casey Clemmons

Casey Clemmons is a day-one political appointee in the Biden-Harris Administration who currently serves as a Strategic Advisor to the Administrator at the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

Before joining PHMSA, Casey served as the Coordinated Campaign Director for the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party on behalf of the Joe Biden for President campaign. Prior to that, Casey served on then-Mayor Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign—helping lead the team that led to Buttigieg's historic Iowa Caucus win. Casey spent the eight years prior to that working on numerous Democratic campaigns for candidates that include Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Governor JB Pritzker, Secretary Hillary Clinton, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Senator Dick Durbin, and President Barack Obama.

Casey is an Eagle Scout, hails from Woodstock, Illinois, and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minor in Environmental Studies.
